There are seven fields of science to research:

• Logistics Construction Science - For Improving Construction, Ship Building and repairing, and Resource Development
• Planetary Defense Science - For Space Station Defense improvements and enhancements
• Ballistics Science - For Ballistics Weapons research
• Directional Science - For Directional Weapons research
• Missile Science - For Missile Weapons research
• Ship-based Science - For Ship-Based Weapons research
• Ship Defense Science - For Shields and Structural enhancements on Ships
